Headline's four HGVs and four Mercedes-Benz Sprinters typically deliver products to consolidation centres in the South-East between 2am and 4am. "We use smaller trucks to be more mobile when we use urban roads, but because of our routes and the times we travel, a speedDuNE limit would not greatly affect us or add to our costs," says general manager Pat Dennison.
However, Dennison syrnpathises with companies operating extremely large fleets that have no choice but to use urban areas. "People complain at not being able to overtake HGVs, so to literally halve their speed is going to be madness."
