THE Irish Transport Trust's fifth bus and coach rally in Co Down recently attracted a record turnout.
The rally began in Belfast and included two road sections, as well as driving tests at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra.
The judging took place at Castle Park, Banger. The Hurst Group Cup (overall winning driver and vehicle) was won by Mr T. Wade driving an Ulsterbus Leyland Leopard/ Alexander (Belfast) from Ballymena. The Alexander Trophy (Concours d'elegance) was won by Mr R. Gelston of Ulsterbus Tours driving a Leyland Leopard/Duple Dominant. Crosson Transport, Drogheda, Other entrants included a representing Eirebus, a group" 1952 Bedford mail bus originof 13 independent operators.
