THE British Association of Removers on Sunday elected its youngest-ever president. He is Fred Hoult, 37-year-old managing director of Hoults Ltd.

Mr Hoult will be advocating more liaison with Parliament and the consumer and greater use of management aids. He is a former chairman of the Association's overseas group.

A new vice-president of BAR is Arthur Edwards, a director of Giltspur Bullen. Geoff Pygall executive director of Pickford's Removals, stays on for a second term as vicepresident. National chairman of the Institute of Furniture Warehousing, and Removal Industry is Robin Mason, 32, overseas manager of Selles Removals and Storage Ltd of Hull. Leicester centre of the Institute of Traffic Administration has elected its new officers for the 1976/77 session. They are : chairman G. 0. Cox; vicechairman M. Clarke; honorary secretary R. Carlisle.

Coventry and Rugby group of the Chartered Institute of Transport has elected its officers for the coming year. They are: chairman D. W. Owen; vice-chairman J. Butlin, honorary secretary J. E. Nixon.

On the passenger front Moss Evans, 50-year-old national organiser of the Transport and General Workers' Union, has been appointed a part-time member of the board of the National Bus Company.

Peter Nash becomes traffic manager of the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive. He is the undertaking's assistant traffic manager.

Arnold Stone, Leeds district manager of the West Yorks PTE, retires at the end of June after 43 years in the Leeds public transport service.

At Southend Malcolm Howitt becomes the deputy transport general manager from June 1. He moves from Lancaster where he is traffic superintendent.

Brian Speller is the new traffic administration manager of London Country following the retirement of Sam Beckham. Bernard Davies becomes commercial manager from assistant commercial manager.

LT has appointed Bryan Gilbert as staff superintendent (buses). He will be responsible for all personnel matters and industrial relations.

Edward Dravers has been appointed director and controller of National Travel (NBC) Ltd in succession to Derek Fytche, who becomes managing director of London Country buses. Mr Dravers is at present general manager of Crosville Motor Services.

Alec Graham becomes director-general of the Greater Manchester PTE in succession to Mr G. A. Harrison. Mr Graham, will be responsible for the authority's 3,000 vehicles. He was educated in Japan.
