Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EMY running and silence are the leading characteristics of the silent gliding door which has recently been marketed by Silent Gliding Doors, Ltd., 53, Archer Street, London, N.W.1.

The new door is suitable not only for garages and workshops, but for any other purpose for which the normal swing door is employed. A feature of the design is that the whole of the weight of the door is carried on the floor, instead of from an overhead track, the latter being provided merely as a guide. Furthermore, the bottom track is flush with the floor, so that difficulties experienced with doors having open channels, such as clogging due to the inclusion of dirt, are eliminated. An accompanying sketch shows the design of the floor guide rail, and it

will be seen that the door rollers, which, incidentally, run on double roller bearings, bear on a rubber track. This track is mounted in a steel channel which is let into the ground so that the top level of the rubber is flush with the floor. The .rollers are ribbed, so that as they pass along the track they form local depressions, which locate the door against -transverse movement.

So soon as the roller has passed, the track resumes its original form and the open door space is unobstructed and the floor quite flat. By this means there is no need for heavy overhead gear. Moreover installation is considerably simplified.
