has spent more than £216,000 on six Daf XF105s to avoid buying Euro-6 trucks next year.
With the 1 January 2014 deadline looming, the firm has bought three new XF105.460 with the SuperSp ace cabs, as well as three second-hand XF105.460 units to replace older vehicles, from local Daf Trucks dealer Watts Truck and Van.
Gary Hill, who runs the business with brother James, sister Alexandria, and parents Desmond and Margaret, said: "We want to stay away from Euro-6 for the first year to see what sort of teething problems the new technology will have."
"We want to see what the fuel costs will be running Euro-6 trucks compared with Euro-5," he added.
