PIRA courses
• Surrey-based training group, PIRA International is organising a series of courses looking at dangerous goodsin-transit.
They will examine guidelines on carrying dangerous goods by road and sea in light of new legislation. All courses are followed by a short exam, and take place at PIRA's training centre in Leatherhead Surrey.
19-21 March: Dangerous goods by road to Europe. £620.
26 March: General introduction to packaging dangerous goods for transport. £220.
LI 3-5 December: Carriage of dangerous goods by sea. £695.
FTA training
• The FTA is running a course on routeing and scheduling on 1-12 April at the FTA Management Training College in Wadhurst, Sussex. The course aims to improve planning skills, ensure a full understanding of traffic office and computer-based systems. Cost: £595.
