• Staffordshire-based used truck specialist Malcolm Harrison is looking to sell its headquarters at Barlaston. According to boss Malcolm Harrison the company has had an offer from "a major manufacturer of new trucks.
which we're seriously considering". A national parcels firm has also expressed interest. Harrison is planning to concentrate on the property arm of his business, but he rules out a total withdrawal from the used truck sector.
The successful bidder for Barlaston will probably take on the site's eight full-time staff. Negotiations are also under way to sell the company's Crickstop truckstop on the A5.
