Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• BRS has lost a 25,000-ayear vehicle maintenance contract with the Transport Development Group, which has awarded the work to Midlandsbased S Jones Transport. TDG Freezwest's distribution manager, Richard Sparks, says he wanted a "more specialist" contractor for the chiefly ERF fleet at the Kidderminster depot. As ERF dealers, S Jones has "parts in stock straight away" and a new workshop, "but the main advantage is a 24 hour service which gives us better fleet utilisation", says BRS Engineering at Kidderminster carried out work on the Coldlink fleet — which recently merged with Western Ice to form Freezwest — for about two years, says BRS engineering administrator Lynne Bingham. Bingham says as far as she is aware the 12-month contract was not finished early by TDG, but ran its course. BRS offers 06:00hrs-to-midnight service with 24-hour emergency cover. But Sparks says the work was taken away from BRS and given to Jones before the end of the contract.
