VIOST of the freight traffic Nithin the London area is not ;uitable for rail transport, British lail has told the House of Com-nons transport committee.
"Nonetheless", says the BR -nemorandum, "we believe our :rain load systems, and the 'less than train load' potential of Freightliners and Speedlink services, can make a useful contribution to relieving road congestion, particularly on radial routes."
