Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• One of the subjects for close investigation by the British Standards Institution's packaging of horticultural produce committee, currently engaged on the revision of existing British Standards and preparation of new ones in metric units, was the international pallet. A sub-committee has now reported that the international size of 1,000 x 1,200mm (the rounded metric equivalent of the 40ft x 48ft) is still appropriate for container use and it has shown effective methods of stacking within the Series 1, ISO.

There are a number of pallets which are satisfactory fits in ISO freight containers— designated A, B and C in BS 3951—and the 1,000 x 1,200mm pallet is one of these.
