• Central Motor Auctions has set up a new National Transport Division to monitor the transport service it offers to its auction customers.
The company's nine auction centres offer a 48-hour countrywide collection and delivery service, for a nominal charge. It uses low-loader units, 16 double-deck car transporters and specially designed two-car transporters. CMA also provides individual drivers for single-vehicle collection or deliveries.
The new division is based at Rothwell, Leeds, and will provide on-the-spot transport back-up to any CMA centre. El CMA has signed a deal with Transfleet to take delivery of 16 new Scania P113 tractive units in the new blue and white CMA livery. Its former fleet of Scania 112s is being auctioned at CMA's regular Rothwell commercial sales.
