Ireland Carriers (NIC), part of Scottish Road Services, has spent more than £25,000 installing a direct computer link between its head office and the Northern Ireland customs headquarters in Belfast.
The computer system will enable NIC to clear its seafreight customers' goods through customs in a matter of hours as opposed to days.
