• German bodybuilder Spier of Steinheim has introduced a new Mercedes-Benz 609Dbased parcels van which includes many features used in the UPS concept vehicle.
It will be launched at the Transport '90 exhibition in Munich later this month. The Donkey-MAX has a full-width hinged bonnet giving easy access to the engine, and a specially curved front windscreen. Aluminium and glass reinforced plastic is used extensively in the bodywork which can be removed with the cab for refit ting to a new chassis. DonkeyMAX has a payload of 2,570kg and 17.8m' load volume.
