• Ronald Hennessy, transport manager of Wigan-based Tankhaul, has denied any involvement in a £2m drug-smuggling plot. Hennessy, of Ashbridge Close, Lostock, Bolton, and Warren Gowan, of St Gregory's Place, Chorley, pleaded not guilty to illegally importing 600kg of cannabis resin. Gowan's father Colin, a driver employed by Tankhaul, pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later.
