• Lex Wilkinson's computer controlled parcel sorting centre — The Hub — has a new manager. He is Frank Johnson.
Johnson joined Lex Wilkinson in November 1981 as sorting hall controller at The Hub, having previously been a production supervisor with British Leyland and an industrial engineer with Talbot in Coventry.
In 1982 he was promoted, first to sorting hall supervisor and then senior supervisor; to shift manager in February 1983, and to operations manager in January 1984.
Johnson's predecessor, John Miles, has been
promoted to southern regional sales manager, based at The Hub. He was general manager of the Newcastle and Chasetown depots before moving to the Flub in June 1985.
