The thesis will trace the development of the diesel engine to date and examine the prospects for future development. It will look at all sizes of diesel engines in use or planned for automotive application.
It should examine the engineering and financial aspects of the use of alternative fuels and materials used in engine construction and calculate the market potential for OE and replacement units.
Entrants should be employed in automotive manufacture or as engineers in road transport or be students or graduates with an engineering degree or should hold corporate membership of The Institute of Road Transport Engineers or The Institute of Mechanical Engineers or the appropriate body in their own country.
