A SELF-HELP community minibus service has been introduced in South Uist.
The service operates five days a week and runs into Benbecula Airport. It has been promoted by the island's community council and a local co-operative, and is financed by the Highlands and Islands Development Board, the Highland Fund, and Western Isles Islands Council.
