NATIONAL TRAVEL'S first scheduled service has got off to a good start. The first run, which left London a fortnight ago, used a Bristol coach with a fully airconditioned body. Fifteen passengers left London, four of them were travelling right through to Athens and two more were picked up in Brussels, two in Cologne and 15 in Frankfurt.
The second service which left London a week ago was operated by a 12m Leyland Leopard with a toiletequipped Plaxton body but without air-conditioning. Three passenger's travellei right through from Lando] to Athens with a further on to Munich, three to Skopje and 17 to Brussels, Cologn and Frankfurt. Mor passengers were picked ui en route.
A spokesman for Nationa Travel revealed last weel that it had been intended t, operate one of the earl services with the single Alex ander M-Type-bodied Le} land Leopard which th company is trying. But th angle of approach of th ferry ramp proves to high fo the low-fronted body.
