DISRUPTION of roads and passenger road services was avoided in Scotland last week when the production workers at the BP refinery at Grangemouth and the management agreed to send a wage claim to arbitration and abide by the court's decision. A spokesman for the Scottish Bus Group said that cancellation of services had been avoided by a hair's breadth but he knew that many small independents around the country had lost all of their weekend traffic, because the settlement had come too late.
