Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I wish to draw attention to the great danger to children caused by fairly high-loading vehicles, especially six-wheelers and trailer types. Children can run under them to play and even hide. On occasions I have seen a driver and his mate jump in their cab and drive away without a look to see whether all is clear.

The same applies with reversing vehicles. I saw this happen with a very high vehicle this week. We should get this safety message over to all drivers and mates as soon as possible. Perhaps the best idea would be to persuade the road safety people to get this point over on television.

A RETIRED DRIVER OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, Blackpool.
