Hydraulic oils
:astrol Industrial have introduced new nineral-based hydraulic oils under the brand lames Castrol Hyspin AWS and Castrol
AWH. These contain an anti-wear iclditive which enables the oil to meet the >pecial requirements of leading manufacturers tf hydraulic equipment. The Castrol Hyspin AWS range comprises tight grades, namely, Castro! Hyspin AWS, 10, 15, 22. 32, 46, 68. 100 and 150. The grade numbers denote the oil viscosity in L.entistokes at 100 deg F. Castro! Hyspin AWH 15 and 46 are two grades which differ from their Castro! Hyspin 4WS counterparts in having viscosity indices n excess of 140. These oils are intended for Ase where hydraulic equipment has to work in :onditions where very cold temperatures are ancountered.

Crankshaft grinder An improved crankshaft grinding machine has been announced by Tetroc Ltd. It is the Schou 1500/260 which is an hydraulic model and is equipped with a two-speed motor. Six spindle speeds of 20, 25, 38, 52, 75 and 100 rpm are available.
Working details include a maximum between-centre distance of 60in and a between chucks distance of 58in. The machine has a maximum stroke of 81n. and a maximum swing over the table of 21 in. Overall length of the machine is 142in. Its net weight is about 9,8001b.
The index pins of the face plates are controlled hydraulically from the centre of the machine, while the table is provided with a quick power traverse, Quick-locking devices are fitted to the work head and tailstock as well as the steady rest.

Mineral wool insulant Danwool is the name given to a new mineral wool insulating material marketed by Dick's Asbestos and Insulating Co. Ltd. The insulant is inorganic and non-combustible, odourless, non hygroscopic, rotproof and water repellent. It is suitable for temperatures up to 1,850deg F. The material is available as a loose wool, in bonded and fire batt slabs, lamella and wired mat and in pipe sections. Of special note, lamella mat is a cross between a rigid and flexible material and is composed of fibres that lie in a vertical plane relative to the insulated surface.
