• Burnley, Cohie and Nelson has become the first area in Lancashire to have its own comprehensive timetable covering all public passenger transport services.
The new publication lists the bus services in all three towns and those from neighbouring towns and villages, and details routes as .far as Sldpton, Keighley, Halifax, Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield, Todmorden, the Rossendale Valley, Bolton, Blackburn and Preston. It also gives information on express coach services and main rail services to other parts of Britain.
Adopted by local transport undertakings represented on the North East Lancashire Area Transport Co-ordinating Committee, the timetable costs only is; its 128 pages provide, in easily readable form, all the local travel information hitherto available only in several different publications.
For the first time, too, the services covered are for a full year instead of six months. Free supplements will be issued as necessary during the year.
A co-operative enterprise, the timetable is published jointly by Ribble Motor Services, Burnley, Comm and Nelson Joint Transport Committee and British Railways.
