THE Great Southern Railways Co.,
Ireland, has decided to close to passenger traffic the Cork-Macroom branch line and to convey all passengers within this area by bus. The new arrangement will operate from July 1, and from that date the present bus service from Cork to Macroom, via Carrigrohane, Ballincollig, Ovens, Farnanes and Crookstown, will be augmented.
The railway has also decided to increase the scope of the lorry service in this section and special facilities will he provided for the transport of bread and other perishable merchandise.
