• The first Cumminspowered buses to join the Nottingham City Bus fleet have gone into service. Fifteen Leyland Lynx single-deckers, worth almost 21 million were delivered at the end of last month to add to Nottingham's present fleet of about 350 buses.

They are powered by 156kW Cummins L10 engines driving through ZF 4HP500 automatic gearboxes.

The integral 51-seat body has a single door and gently ramped floor.

Lynxes have also gone to Merthr Tydfil Transport, Berks Bucks Bus Company (Bee Line) and Pan Atlas of London, which has taken eight for use on London Regional Transport tendered services.
