New Vehicle Lifts

AN agreement has been reached between Mann Egerton and Co., Ltd., and Skyhi, Ltd., manufacturers of vehicle lift equipment, whereby the two companies are to work together to make and market a range of Vehicle lifts and hoists. Under this agreement, the Skyhi lift as such will cease to exist as a separate entity and, as a result, two new Mann Egerton " Skyhi" lifts have been announced.

The first has a lifting capacity of 16 cwt. and is of an entirely new type. It is designed expressly to handle the smaller types of vans and cars. Called the " Mini" Car Lift, it uses a parallelaction linkage which provides a vertical lift of just over 2 ft. 7 in., leaving the vehicle in a wheel-free position. The unit, which is fully manoeuvrable, has an overall length of 9 ft. 6 in., and is priced at £147 10s.

Rated lifting capacity of the second, which is a conventional 4-post lift, is 3 tons with a vertical travel of 5 ft. Features incorporated include a mechanical lock on the ram cross-head, which is automatically set, and four support legs fitted to the trackways to obtain the wheel-free position. The lift is raised and the supporting legs 'are swung down into position. Lifting pads are located under convenient vehicle lifting points and the lift tracks are then lowered, leaving the vehicle resting on the supporting legs. The whole operation can be done in less than a minute. A number of attachments are available with this lift, the basic price charged for the unit being £332.
