Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALL B.M.C. 5-ton normal and forward control trucks and tractive units for a 12-15-ton gross train weight are now available with a new heavy-duty Eaton 2-speed axle, type 13802, optional.

This new axle is of improved design and stronger construction having a larger crown wheel and pinion, higher-capacity pinion shaft bearings and an increased torque capacity over the type 1350 axle it replaces. As a larger axle casing is used, the 13802 differential assembly is not interchangeable with that of the 1350, although the ratios are the same.

Ratios of the single-speed axles fitted as standard to all 5-ton models are also unchanged, and the new axle will not be fitted to the recently announced B.M.C. tractive units for an 18-ton ga.w. which have Eaton type 16500 2-speed axles fitted as standard.
