OFFICERS of the Conservative M.P.s' Transport Committee are to ask the Minister of Transport to clear away the uncertainties surrounding the issuing of A and C licences,
They decided on this after meeting representatives of the Road Haulage Association last week, and hearing of their disquiet over the present position.
The M.P.s hope to see the Minister before Parliament rises for the long recess at the beginning of August. Even if Mr. Marples does decide to take action—and there is a feeling that he must—he will not make any pronouncement until the Merchandise and Arnold Transport High Court cases are concluded.
