T"E prototype of a Land-Rover fireengine aroused great interest among members of the fire services at a recent demonstration. This vehicle is under development by the Rover Co., Ltd., and is fitted with a self-priming pump with a delivery rate of 150-200 g.p.m.
this pump also supplies the first-aid reel from a 40-gallon tank mounted amidships, and normal five-way control is provided to facilitate link-ups with hydrants. The delivery hose and small gear are housed in side lockers. There is a short light-alloy ladder; and the all-up weight of the machine is 2 tons.
