ifk PROPOSAL by the .South Shields
Transport Committee to increase bus fares to 2d. to cover higher costs because of the recent fuel-price increases has been •referred back to the committee by the town council. When the matter came up for confirmation, Aid. E. Hill said that the undertaking would get more revenue by reducing the 10. fare to id., rather than increasing it to 2d. If the fare rose to 2d.. revenue would be lost as more people would walk.
