The Annual Report Indicates a " Live " Organization THE annual general meeting of the Booking Agents Association of Great Britain, Ltd., was held in London yesterday, when it was stated that, although the membership of the association showed a decrease as compared with the figure for last year, the fully paid membership has increased by more than 500 per cent, and stands at 146. The policy of the organization is to confine its membership to agents of standing and responsibility.

During the year sub-committees were elected to deal with finance, publicity, insurance and social events, whilst an agreement was entered into with Highways Guide, Ltd., for the publication

of a monthly journal, known as the Booking Agents' Gazette.

A scheme for an insurance policy covering payment of accounts due on bookings has been formulated. Special attention has been paid to the maintenance of reasonable fares, and the leading coaching concerns have been assured of the co-operation, in this

respect, of the association. The committee has aimed, so fares possible, at retaining, in conjunction with the coaching concerns, the booking business in the hands of members and has endeavoured to protect them against unfair competition. In this connection it is hoped to introduce a "distancelimit" scheme.

During the year a system of direct bookings between agents and operators on main agents' tickets has been introduced. This is claimed to have eliminated a considerable wastage of time.

The Commercial Motor received the thanks of the association for the assistance it had given in the way of publishing notices, reports of meetings, etc.

Reference was also made to the association's action with regard to the proposed ban on coaches in Central London,
