• Ford's Transit minibus has won the truck and bus section of the Prince Michael Road Safety Awards. Its standard safety features include air bags for the driver and outer front passenger, ABS with electronic brake distribution and threepoint passenger seat-belts to the same M1 standard as passenger cars. A special award was presented to Ferodo for its "Broke Alert" system, fitted in place of a rivet on truck and trailer brake shoes, which operates a warning Light as the lining reaches the end of its working life.
