Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• One of Britain's youngest chief ambulance officers recently published his concept of a hover ambulance of the 1980s. As a result. Hovertrailers International Ltd, Southampton, has developed a means of making this possible today.

Using a 10-ton-capacity hovertrailer. an ambulance provided by the City of Southampton has been transported over a variety of ground surfaces.

Mr D. Williamson, marketing manager for HTI, said the trial was very successful and clearly indicated the potential of the hovertrailer for the transport of emergency services on difficult terrain.

The next stage, he said, would be to transport a fire tender and perhaps at a later date a completely self-contained rescue unit suited to dealing with accidents on roads which have been blocked by multiple pile-ups, and wherever disasters involving large numbers of people have occurred.
