Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Kerry Works Truck, a new, low-priced, factory internal transport vehicle, is now being marketed in the UK by Mercurial Power Ltd. The truck will carry loads of up to 12 cwt, and has exceptionally low fuel consumption. It is the latest addition to the range of three-wheeled Kerry Capitano trucks, the road versions of which were only recently introduced into the UK.

The loading height is only 16 in. and the platform area is 22 sq. ft. It can operate anywhere where there is a clear width of 50 in. The single-cylinder, heavy-duty two-stroke engine has a bore of 38 mm. and a stroke of 42 mm., and it is claimed that it will operate at a cost of about 3d. per hour.

A three-speed gearbox controlled by a twist grip on the handlebars transmits power through a roller chain to the rear wheels. Suspension is by coil springs at the front wheel and semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear wheels. The frame is constructed in tubular steel and a welded, pressed-steel body is fitted, measuring 63 in. long by 50 in. wide.

Drum brakes are fitted on all three wheels. The front wheel brake is operated by a hand lever and the rear wheel units by a pedal. A parking brake operates the rear wheel units only. The vehicle is mounted on a 3.00-12 tyre on the front wheel and 3.50-8 tyres on the rear wheels.

Marketed by: Mercurial Power Ltd., Queens House, Leicester Square, London W.C.2.

Price: £175.
