E success of the Bedford 6 and 8 cwt. rvans introduced in 1964 is said to be largely responsible for increased sales of Bedford commercial vehicles last year. The total of 61,961 units sold in Britain represents a record for the company and an increase of 13.5 per cent over the 1964 figure.
At the same time, exports fell slightly— from 52,060 to 50,399. Even so, Bedford accounted for 45 per cent of all British commercial vehicle exports and the total figure for sales was up by 5.4 per cent—from 106,646 to 112,360.
