A LTHOUGH the town clerk had ris advised members that concession fares for old-age pensioners on the corporation's bus services were illegal, Preston Town Council rejected last week a proposal to apply to the Licensing Authority to end the concession, The proposal was referred back for further consideration. This action was suggested in order to give time to see whether a private member's Bill on concession fares was successful in Parliament,
ROVER MAKE OWN TRACK
A NEW test track nearly 21 miles ri in circumference has been laid down on their own land by the Rover Co., Ltd., so that the company may carry out trials in a private circuit instead of the busy public road. It is expected that in the first year of operation, vehicles will cover 750.000 miles on the track.
