• Higher-than-average maintenance standards have resulted in London Buses having its licence renewed for the maximum five-year period by the Traffic Commissioners.
During the past 12 months, close to 100% of all London Buses' fleet of 4,500 vehicles passed their annual test on the day of examination — either on the first check, or after minor changes. This compares with an 81% national average.
Some 88% of LBL's fleet passed on the first check, with no changes required, compared with 60% nationally.
