ANTHONY LAU, a repair mechanic with ability clearly beyond his present occupation, has been awarded about £9,500 by Volvo in Sweden for redesigning equipment for dispensing brake fluid and other liquids during motor manufacture. His apparatus, which can be built at a cost of £10,000, replaces unreliable proprietary plant that cost five times as much.
Anthony, who did the design work in his spare time, arrivec Sweden from Kuala Lump Malaysia, ten years ago. I equipment is already in use Torslanda, Sweden, and Ghe Belgium, and may be adopt elsewhere.
