Mid-Glamorgan County Council wanted to introduce an 8am to 6pm loading on one side of the main street, Dunraven Street, in Tonypandy, but Freight Transport Association representations have helped delay this for the time being at least.
The FTA pointed out that some major stores, including Fine Fare and Dewhurst, would be inconvenienced, and the public inquiry inspector suggested that an alternative scheme be devised, possibly involving the removal of bus stops and a pelican crossing.
