Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

)yson are trailer engineers. Not ler manufacturers you notice.

'railer engineers.

'here's a difference. And it's not just ifference of attitude and believing t a customer should get exactly what xants and not be a slave to a prodLon line. It's also believing that a ler.should be "engineered" down to very last detail, and that goes for undards" and "specials" alike. Take one small example, the king pin and bingplate on our Grandon Tandem. 'he rubbing plate—well it's made of thick steel, very amply reinforced cross members, and real care is en to see that the working surface is completely flat. The front end which overlaps the chassis frame is turned up, reinforced back on to the front cross member with strong gussets to form a substantial nose, giving a lead-on which assists coupling.

The king pin-it's a mushroom headed drop forging made from heat treated high tensile alloy steel and accurately machined to size. It is a press fit into a carefully bored hole in the plate so that the eight high tensile securing bolts are relieved of all stresses other than the vertical ones, and these bolts are fitted with special aero-tight self-locking nuts.

This is the kind of engineering detail that goes into every part of a Dyson and naturally it must add something to the price—but surprisingly little, you'll find. If first cost is your only consideration then maybe there are cheaper assembled trailers. If you want a profitable trailer— get yourself a Dyson.
