VISCOUNT GOSCHEN, G.C.S.I., G.C.I.E., C.B.E., has resigned the chairmanship of the Transport Advisory Council, as he Ends it impossible to continue to give the necessary time to the work of the Council. He has been chairman of the Council since February, 1934.

The Minister of Transport has. appointed SIR ARTHUR GRIFFITH.. BOSCAWEN to take his place, and the change will take effect from March 1. Sir Arthur Griffith-Boscawen was chairman of the Royal Commission on Transport, 1928-1930, on the recommendation of which the Transport Advisory Council was constituted. He was chairman of the committee appointed by the Council to revise the High-way Code, so that he will hake to his new appointment considerable experience in transport affairs.
