This approach caters for electronically controlk turbo-diesels. VAD is one of the network of dealers autte rised to fit the range of reprogrammed ECU chips deve oped by Superchips of Brackley. The Superchip approac can be done either by replacing the ECU's main chip c increasingly, by simply plugging a laptop computer into ti system and reprogramming the existing chip. In each caE the effect is the same: to reconfigure the ECU's fuellir map for optimum power by altering both injection timir and quantity. The results vary from one model of engine 1 another depending on the in-built reserves, but increasi in power and torque of up to 40% can be obtained.
