• Sheffield-based Leyland Daf dealer Choifields has delivered 20 new tippers to Barnsley haulier MP Burke in a deal worth f1 .2m. MP Burke runs 600 vehicles nationwide.
• Ryder Systemcci• has the £100,000-a-yeor contract to carry out home deliveries for furniture retailer Staks. Twoman crews will deliver throughout the UK out of Staks' 26 stares.
• Ryder's contract maintenance division has the contract to service 20 tankers for Leeds-based oil recycling Firm Orcol Fuels. The rigids and tractive units are based at the Uddingston, Glasgow depot.
• Hays Distribution-owned AbeIs Specialist Distribution has been awarded a Further five-year contract with Marks & Spencer for the nationwide home delivery of furniture and upholstery. As a result £1.5m is to be invested in new vehicles.
• Oswestry-based Pentons Haulage and Cold Storage has won the £1.2m rolling contract to distribute butter and cheese for Dairy Crest from its Cruddington creamery near Telford and the Maelor creamery near Wrexham. The deal has created. 25 jobs.
• TIP Trader Rental Europe has the contract to supply 350 intermodal 7.15m swap bodies to German firm TNT Logistik GmbH. The trailers, manufactured by Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, swell TIP swap-body fleet to more than 4,000.
Murco Petroleum has awarded rail freight company Transraii a £125m contract to move petrol and other products from Milford Haven to its terminals at Westerleigh and Theale. Eleven trains a week will run on the contract.
