/ Stagecoach Scottish subsidiary Magicbus is moving new buses to Inverness to boost the fleet of its recent acquisition, Inverness Traction.
A fleet of 10 Peugeot Talbot Pullman minibuses has been sent north from Cumberland, and a number of new Mercedes-Benz 709Ds, currently being bodied at Alexanders, will follow.
The new deliveries will allow Traction's original fleet of Sherpa minibuses to be returned to the leasing companies. SI3G subsidiary Highland Scottish, wider attack from Inverness Traction, has re-registered a number of local services, which will now operate at timings closer to Traction's. Highland's managing director Jim Moffat describes the move as "competitive scheduling".
Highland was criticised by the Office of Fair Trading following complaints by Traction, and Moffat has been in discussion for some time over alleged "fundamental inaccuracies" contained in the OFT report.
It is believed an apology has been received, although there is still a dispute over undertakings to be imposed on Highland by the OFT.
