• Magazine Distribution Services won 2100,000 worth of new contracts in November. They included delivery of Competition Car and Micro Computer Marl published by MCM of Birmingham; Progressive Newsagent, published by the London-based Johnson Group; and Prizes Galore, published by Moore Harness of Leicester.
Managing director Brian Martin says the company's volume of business has in creased 61% in the past year — most of the growth coming from its subsidiary Time Sensitive Deliveries which was launched in November 1988. "Almost all the new business for TSDL could be attributed to the rail strike which forced publishers to turn to road distribution," he says. "We won contracts with Reed to deliver such titles as Horse and Hound, New Scientist, Cycling and Commercial Motor."
