• Most of Britain's truck manufacturers are cutting bad as the truck market slides intc a recession.
In the first nine months of this year Iveco Ford's UK truck production fell by 5.5%, Seddon Atkinson's by 7%, AWD's by 14%, and Renault riuck Industries by 28%. Pro duction levels were virtually unchanged at Leyland Dais Lkyland plant. Only ERF and Foden managed to boost their output (by 19.5% and 6.5% re spectively), and with ERF still on a four-day week that increase is obviously affected by earlier results.
Light CV output has increased with Ford, Leyland Daf and IBC all doing well. IB, production rose 26.3% to cop( with increased exports.
