DASED on a B.T.C. trailer, a 1,185-eu.-ft. bulk transporter for animal foodstuffs has been built by H. Woodward and Sons, Ltd., Formby, for Spillers, Ltd. The h.:fad is equivalent to 10 tons of bran. The trailer chassis was adapted slightly to accommodate a hopper-type body. The cross-members are of 6-in. by 3-in, steel channel,

instead of angle section. The outfit is 24 ft. 4 in. long by 7 ft. 6 in. wide.

There are four discharge points. The body has sides of 12-gauge light alloy and a floor of 10-gauge material Argonarc welded to an angle-iron frame. The roof is three-quarter sheeted with an open strip down the centre for overhead loading. The body has four electric vibrators which are run from mains current while unloading.

The prime mover is a Seddon with two-speed axle. Woodward are building three transporters as prototypes.
