Perkins Raise .£1,069: F. Perkins, Ltd., have raised £1,069 for Hungarian relief, Highway Code 6d: The price of the Highway Code has been raised from Id. to 6d.
New Road Work: The construction' of a length of road to form the southern link of the proposed Sheffield inner ring road is to start soon and may be completed in two years.
B.M.C. Club Committee: A committee for a new Acton branch of the B.M.C. Drivers' Club, to be based on Stewart and Ardern, Ltd., will meet on Monday to plan future activities.
American Exports Up: Exports or American goods vehicles to countries other than Canada totalled 148,800 in the first nine months of this year, compared with 139.383 in the similar period of 1955.
French Exports Drop: France sold 20.536 commercial vehicles overseas in the first 10 months of 1956, compared with 24,275 in the corresponding period of 1955. Production rose from 139,984 to 146,865.
Road Reports: The Granada television network has started a service by which reports on mad conditions in an area from the Scottish Border to the Midlands are broadcast at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., with extra reports when necessary.
Forth Bridge Tolls: Arrangements for financing the projected Forth road bridge have been revised. The Government will pay £4.65m. towards the estimated cost of £14.3m. the authorities forming the bridge joint board £500,000, and the balance will he raised by tolls.
