• Mercedes-Benz led the UK sales league last month with 399 registrations, according to the SMMT. Leyland DaF was second with 354 registrations and Iveco Ford was third with 296.
• Lincmaster has launched a pedal lock for Transits which encloses the brake and clutch pedals. Pedal Lock locks in place automatically and can earn reduced insurance premiums.

• Only two out of 36 car MoT test assessments carried out by the Consumers' Association magazine were performed correctly. Testers passed some vehicles that should have failed—and failed other vehicles which should have passed.
• Folkes Group has acquired transport and cargo handling equipment manufacturer Hydraroll for £4m. Capital group 3i has invested El .9m with additional funding from the Bank of Scotland.
• PPG has launched two new paint systems. Delfleet HS Topcoat is a one-coat system which is said to cut materials costs by up to 30%. Speedcoat 4 HS Topcoat is also a one-coat, with the emphasis on good opacity and drying times.
