Gover, managing director of Penman Garages Ltd. of Buccleuch Street. Dumfries. has been appointed to the council of the Scottish Motor Trade Association.

F. D. Hildred has joined the board of Advance Motor Supplies Ltd as director and general manager with special responsibilities for sales in home and export markets. Mr Hildred was previously director, and manager replacement sales division of Mintex Ltd.

Cyril F. Brown has been appointed sales director of H. and J. Quick Ltd, Ford main dealers, Old Trafford, Manchester. Mr Brown will have executive control of sales departments at the main showrooms, also at depots in Altrincham, Timperley, Handforth and Deansgate and of the dealerships of Bury and Ashtonunder-Lyne.

Don Williams, 47, manager of the National Carriers Ltd Colwyn Bay depot since 1967. moves to Preston. Malcolm White, 36, assistant depot manager at Halifax since 1969, is promoted to depot manager at Swindon.

E. (Ernie) Sanderson has retired from the board of Milburn Motors Ltd, Glasgow, of which he was a co-founder in 1931 with his brother, R. Sanderson and Alex Norris. Ernie Sanderson and Alex Norris have recommenced business in Glasgow and Preston as principals of S and N Motors Ltd, specializing in the Ford psv range. Sales manager is Ted Walker, formerly with Duple Coachbuilders Ltd.

Victor Low, 30. has been appointed Walsallbased operations manager for the West Midlands area of PD Waste Services Ltd. Mr Low transfers from another Powell Duff ryn company, Carrells (PD Fuels Ltd)—he was branch manager at Fareham, Hants.

K. R. G. Hannis, assistant traffir manager (east) of Crosville Moto Services Ltd, Chester, has beer appointed manager of the Liver pool South division of thi Merseyside PTE with res ponsibility for 2,500 employee: and 500 buses. Before moving a Chester in 1965 he was assistan traffic manager of the Midlani General Omnibus Co Ltd.

OBITUARY

We record with regret the death of Davi Graham Danskin.

Mr Danskin, 31, was managing director c D. G. Danskin, haulage contractor, fVlansefielc Strathkinness, Fife, and chairman of the Fif sub-area of the Road Haulage Associatior He was killed at the weekend when his ci crashed into a wall near a bend on the Cupai Strathkinness road. He had managed th family business since his father, Mangu Danskm, died in a car crash near Leven, i 1967.
