• The first of six special precinct buses ordered by Leeds City transport from the passenger vehicle division of the Williams Motor Group, Manchester, will be exhibited on the stand of Mercedes-Benz (Great Britain) Ltd at the Commercial Motor Show. An example of the Mercedes-Benz 0.302 coach, finished in stainless steel, and in the livery of Seamarks Bros Ltd of Luton, to whose fleet of seven Mercedes coaches it will eventually be added, will also be on show.
Basically a Mercedes-Benz L.406 D high roof transporter van, the precinct bus will have power-operated folding doors, a parcel rack, ticket issuing and change machine and two-way telecommunications link. It will be in Leeds City transport livery.
